Paul Richardson's Public Art: Steel Sculptures and other Steel art

Gallery - Public Art
Paul has worked as a public artist since 1990. He has won public commissions in the Midlands, Kent, Staffordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. He has delivered to public and corporate clients major public art schemes on time and to budget with responsibility for design, fabrication installation and long term maintenance. He has collaborated with a variety of other professionals on public art works, including Arts Officers, planners, artists, architects, landscape designers, structural engineers and maintenance contractors. Paul ensures that his artworks are both low maintenance but have long term durability as outdoor works.

As a public artist, Paul sees each project as a unique solution to the needs of the site : the place and the people who use it. He considers the nature and history of the site, how people use it now, how to keep people safe around it and how to ensure the durability of his work. This approach is his trademark across the huge variety of places in which he has been commissioned to work. From the lyrical "Angels of Music" in the gates of a medieval church concert hall, to burlesque ballroom dancers who raise smiles in the courtyard of a hospital, Paul's public art works are designed to fit the individual site.
